2021 was a year of tremendous growth for me. I took two trips to the beach, only to discover that I didn’t really enjoy it anymore. That was a surprise. I stopped seeing Art, who was a really heavy drinker, and didn’t fit into my new life. That caused problems in the condo community-they all loved him. So, I moved out in April, and into an apartment, which I despised. But I was looking for a house, and couldn’t buy one until my condo sold. It took about three months, then all of the closing time. The first day I went out with a realtor, I found the one I wanted. I think it was the fourth house I looked at. It was big enough for Emma to have her own space in the basement, and for me to have a separate office and a guest room. We moved in mid-October, and I almost immediately started the process of remodeling the kitchen. It hadn’t been updated since it was built in 1985, so it definitely was time. I had Thanksgiving here, but at Christmas, I didn’t have a kitchen, so we went to Mom’s. Another very eventful year…aren’t they all?
